HAPPY 2nd BIRTHDAY "J-DOG"...

Today Jaden turns "2"! Well, actually not until 4:33pm (MST)!! I can't believe how old he is! Time sure does fly by. I wish that I was able to see him, I HATE that he lives far away in Colorado. I can't wait to see him at Christmas time. I am sure he had a blast at his party yesterday. Your present is coming....it is on back order and will hopefully arrive sometime in October! HAPPY BIRTHDAY BUDDY!!!

It Should Be An Eventful Night...

Most of you know that ever since my really bad "take-over" robbery at the bank 3 years ago, I haven't been able to sleep. I know that may sound as a shock to those of you who knew the "old" Cara that would sleep all the time! I am now the complete opposite and it drives me crazy!!! I had to take sleeping medicine right after it happened but decided to stop taking them because I didn't want to get addicted. Well, after years of not being able to sleep and being tired ALL OF THE TIME, I went back to the doctor. I was given something that worked at first, but of course, stopped working. It would help me fall asleep but I would still wake up several times through out the night and couldn't fall back asleep. So I decided to go back to the doctor to get a "stronger" medication.

Most of you have seen the commercials for Ambien CR. I am anxious to see if it actually works and if I will be able to sleep the whole night! Tonight is the first night I am going to take it. I thought I should probably read the side effects and information about this new medicine and found some interesting facts:

"Rarely, after taking this drug, people have gotten out of bed and driven vehicles while not fully awake ("sleep-driving"....duh!). People have also sleepwalked, prepared/eaten food and made phone calls. Often these people do not remember these events."

So, if I happen to make a strange phone call to you or show up at your house with a sandwich in my hand in the middle of the night, I am sorry.

Somewhere Under a Rainbow...

We went to the USC vs Washington St game AKA "BLOWOUT" yesterday evening. We weren't sure how the weather would be since it had been raining off and on Saturday. It rained twice during the game for a little while, but I enjoyed it! There was a huge rainbow over the Coliseum after it rained and it looked so awesome! You could see that is started in Downtown and came across the entire stadium to the other end. I loved that I was able to finally where my USC sweatshirt to a game that Joe got me last Christmas!! We went to the bookstore before hand so Joe could get himself a sweatshirt. He found one he liked, but not as cool as mine!! (Mine does have the capability to hold an ipod and headphones through the hood!!!) We each got a new hat and I got a new shirt. The game was pretty much a blowout, 47-14. We got to the game later than normal so we didn't get to park in out same spot. We got stuck in a huge parking structure (AKA the Parking Center), but at least got to take a tram to and from the Coliseum. We left at the end of the 3rd quarter because we heard the nightmare of trying to get out of the structure at the end of the game. We were home by 8:30! It was a nice evening and I loved the cool weather and rain! You can't beat being at a football game in the evening under a rainbow!!

39 Days, 16 People........1 Survivor!!!

"Survivor, China" has started and I am SOOOOOOO excited!! I have watched every season since it premiered 15 seasons ago and still get excited each new season. This season takes place in China. There are some pretty interesting characters: Ashley (pro-wrestler), James (a grave digger), Todd (a gay mormon fight attendant), Chicken (a chicken farmer from Virginia) and Frosti (the youngest survivor). They split them in two tribes: Yellow and Red. The red team seemed stronger and more efficient and ended up winning the first challenge. The yellow tribe had to vote someone off and "Chicken" was the first to go. It looks like another good season and if you don't watch it, you should start. Every Thursday, 8 pm, channel 2....Jeff Probst has the best job in the world!! Hopefully he will retire soon as the host and I can take his place!!

The winning tribe. What a contrast between James (grave digger on the far right) and Todd (the gay flight attendant next to him sitting down). Better not mess with James!! The guy on the far left, Aaron, is a surfing instructor who kinda looks like Kelly Slater!!

It Only Took Me Three Years...

Joe and I took advantage of the beautiful weather this weekend and rode our bikes down to the beach. It is only 3 miles away!!! I have lived here for almost 3 years and have never rode my bike down to the beach! It was such a nice ride. The scenery was to die for....bright blue sky with sparkling ocean water. The weather was perfect. The beach was still pretty crowded even though it is now September. I think that I might need start doing this more often. You can't beat exercise that is so conveniently close to the beach!!!

Now my next challenge will be riding my poor lonely beach cruiser down there. I have had it for over a year and have never taken it down to the beach....I think I have only taken a few rides around the block since I got it. It is TOOO CUTE to just be sitting in my garage...even the air has come out of the tires!!!

FYI...Remember Joe's new camera I broke when we were in Lake Powell?? Well, he took it to Best Buy and just said that "it doesn't focus" and they let him get a brand new one!!! So...I am out of the dog house and didn't have to buy a new one!! I'm just not allowed to use it anymore...we'll see how long that lasts!!!

So I Did Lose a Dog...

I went back to Fashion Island tonight to go visit my "potential" dog and SHE WAS GONE!!! I looked everywhere for her but couldn't find her. I asked the girl who helped me over the weekend where she was and she said that someone bought her. I sure hope that she has a good home.

Today when I was at work, we were thinking of names for her and came up with these: Coco, Butterscotch, Copper, Maggie, Dolce and my favorite, Roxy. I guess that I will have to find another Roxy. At least this will give me time to find a new place to live that allows dogs!

I had to post this picture...I was trying to find a picture of a Coton-Poo so you could see what the dog I want looks like, but can't find one and came across this.....WOW????????

And They Call it PUPPY LOVE....

I can't believe these words are coming out of MY mouth, but I am having puppy withdrawals!!?? I spent the last week and a half watching Scott and Megan's dog Daphne while they were in Greece. I was a little surprised that I offered to watch her since I have never really liked dogs. I have never spent that much time with a dog. I figured it would be fun and like a mini vacation. The first day was a nightmare. When I got home from work I walked in ready to be attached by the furious little pup but the house was silent. I thought maybe she was out on the balcony or upstairs, but no sign of her anywhere. I thought I had already lost the dog on the first day!! I was freaking out. I had no clue how I would explain this to Megan. I thought to call the "real dog sitter" (she would come and play with Daphne during the day so she wouldn't be so wild when I would get home) to see if she knew where she was. Luckily she still had her and was on her way to drop her off. I decided to do some laundry while I was waiting and went to grab something off the top shelf and knocked a whole container of powered stain remover in the washing machine into a load of clothes I had just washed. So I just decided to wash them again and figured they would just be really clean. Then I went to get Daphne's food ready and turned on the garbage disposal that apparently had a spoon and some measuring spoons down it that got destroyed! So, my first day I lost a dog and had to replace some stain remover, measuring spoons and tried to figure out where they got there spoons from so I could replace it!! I also learned that you can't leave any paper sitting out where a dog can get it. I left a note for the dog sitter and when I came home I found it shredded to pieces on the floor!!!!

All washer full of stain remover, a chewed up letter and some broken spoons!

It was pretty much smooth sailing after my first day. Daphne and I became great pals. We would go to the park everyday and play ball and take a walk. I got used to having someone around all the time when I got home from work. She would come running to me every day I got home and just hang out with me. We even had sleepovers each night!!! Our last night was the best night. I had taped the Justin Timberlake concert on HBO for Megan (it was the same one we went to and loved it!) as a surprise, so we had our own "Party" with Justin our last night. Daphne is a groupie already!!!

Getting ready for the USC game and Daphen napping

It was really weird going back home and being all alone again.....I keep looking for Daphne!! So I have decided that I need a dog. Joe and I were at Fashion Island this weekend because I wanted to go to the pet store. I found the cutest little dogie. She was soooo cute!!! She was a coton-poo. Not quite sure what that is but cute!!!! She was only 2 months old. I got to hold her and she just sat there staring at me. I seriously wanted to buy her but I can't have any pets where I live. SO, I need to move so I can go and get her!!! I can't believe that I may end of with a dog!!?? Joe went and bought an iphone and I thought I was going to get one too, but think I will save my $ for my new dog!!!!

Besides watching Daphne, Joe and I went to the first USC home game against Idaho a couple of weekends ago. My friend Monique had two extra tickets so we were able to go. I am SOOO excited that the football season has begun!!! We usually get to a few USC games a season, so hopefully there will be more to come!! "FIGHT ON!!"
