iChat

iChat is the most amazing thing ever!!! I was able to talk and see my sister in Colorado and my sister in Canada all at once!! If you have a mac, you need to set up iChat!!! I can't believe that I can see both my sisters and niece and nephews from the computer and one of them doesn't even live in the United States!! Technology these days in unbelievable!! I have a feeling I am going to be on my computer more often now....no more long distance phone calls that I have to pay for. I can just go online and actually see them for FREE!!!! The fact that we can all see and talk to each other is AWESOME!!! My nephew Carter showed me some paper mitts he made at pre-school and Jaden was shooting me with his pirate gun! It was soo much fun!! I have one word of advice...GET A MAC!!!!!!! If you don't have a mac, you can set up AIM (AOL Instant Messenger) and just use a camera if you have one!

"Hotel Heyman" is CLOSED For Business!!!

I miss these cute kids!!! Everyone has ventured back to their distant destinations..Shauna, Doug and Jaden to Colorado & Dave, Lisa, Audrey, and Carter back to Canada...in other words..back to the FREEZING COLD!!! A month sure does fly by fast when you have such active children!! I don't know how Audrey survives those two BOYS!! She is a trooper!

I can't believe that the next time I see everyone there will probably be two more kids! I don't know how Lisa and Shauna survive now let alone with each having one more coming?? My brother, Matt, hung out with them for one whole day and at the end of it said to Lisa and Shauna, "You do this all the time?"

I miss all you guys...but especially the kids! I miss hearing those cute little voices, not the screaming, but pretty much everything else!

BERMUDA...HERE I COME!!!!

I can't believe this...but I am going to Bermuda!!!! I got a call from one of my second cousins (maybe she is my 3rd cousin? I lose track!) to see if I wanted to go on a cruise to Bermuda the first week in April for only $300!! She said that they had room for one more person. I didn't know what to say!? Of couse I wanted to go, but I SWORE I would NEVER go on a cruise!!! I don't know why, but all I think of is the Titanic!!! I am SOOO afraid that when I go to sleep at night, the boat will end up sinking. Everyone at my work was telling me how safe it is and how I couldn't pass it up, especially for that price. Also that there aren't any ice burgs either!! I told her I would have to call her right back because I needed to find out if I could get the time off of work. My manager is skiing in Mammoth right now, so I sent her a text message and she actually answered me back with OF COURSE!!! So, I couldn't use that as my excuse. I was FREAKING out and getting soo anxious as I was trying to make my decision because of my FEAR!! My pulse was racing SOOO FAST!! Everyone at work was looking up the weather conditions and told me that April one of the best months to go (no hurricanes) and just to keep clear of the Bermuda Triangle!!! I hadn't thought of that!!! Well, I decided that I couldn't say NO!!

I am flying to New York on March 28th and then we board ship on the 29th and come back to New York on April 5th. I think I might just stay in New York for that next week if all works out since I will already be out there. Thankfully, I have American Airlines miles, so my flight to New York is FREE!!!! I even have a cabin on the ship with a balcony (that way I can jump before we sink!!). I can't stop talking and thinking about it. It is going to be a long 3 months of counting down!! Good thing I got my passport a few months ago. I can't believe my first trip will be to BERMUDA!!!!!

I Don't Gett It???

Today I ventured to the Getty Museum in LA with my sister, Heather, and my aunt and cousins. I have always wanted to go...but was CLUELESS to what type of a museum it was. I love going to all the museums in DC, but this was a bit different. There were a bunch of painting on the wall.......not that interesting to me at least!! I guess I'm not into an art museum!! We took a guided tour that was an hour long but we only lasted about 10 minutes. The lady that was giving the tour had a pretty annoying voice and the people in our group were asking the WEIRDEST questions. "Are there any musicians in this painting??" "Did the people in this painting have diabetes??" We couldn't take anymore of it, so we went and spent the rest of our time inside the cafe.

We also weren't prepared for the "rain storm of the century"!!! In order to get to the different areas of the museum, you had to walk outside in the PORING rain!!! They were nice enough to have umbrellas for everyone to use. We definitely weren't dressed to be out in the poring rain. Heather had slip on shoes, Emily had on capri pants and I left my jacket in the car!!! We had all heard about the beautiful views you can see, but because of the weather, we didn't see much of anything!!! It was an adventure!! I think we had more fun running out of the rain and riding on the tram!!

O' Christmas Tree...

I wanted to get a Christmas tree this year, but never got around to it because I ended up with that "nasty cold" everyone was getting and honestly was too lazy to get out the decorations knowing I would have to clean them up! So, Joe got me this "Charlie Brown Christmas Tree" from Urban Outfitters!!! It is the cutest thing ever!!! Sad to say though that when he was moving it into my room, the ONE ornament fell off and broke!! We were laughing soo hard..our poor little tree!!!

My family has been in town for the holidays and it has been a blast!! We spent Christmas Eve at Disneyland. It was Jaden's first time and I think he was a bit overwhelmed!!! All of my cousins, aunts and uncles from my mom's side came to celebrate my Grandpa's birthday also. He is a Christmas Eve baby!! It was soo much fun to have everyone there. It has been a long time since the whole family went to Disneyland together. We used to go all the time when we were kids! I am sad to say though my pass expired on Christmas Eve....I'm going to wait to get another one..I have to save $379!!

We had Christmas at my mom's this year. It was nice not having to have such a long drive. Joe had bought Rock Band back in November and we have been dying to play it with Dave. We had such a blast ROCKING out!!! The whole family got in on the fun, even the kids!!! I think Doug found his new calling...a ROCK SINGER!!! That guy can really put on a good performance!!!

On Friday afternoon we headed out the the Grove in LA. I had never been before and was soo excited to go. We met up with my aunt and cousin's and did a little shopping. We had dinner and then headed back to watch the snow by the huge Christmas tree. The Chrismas decorations were soo pretty!!

Sunday night my mom had the Bergen's and Mike's neice Kelly and her husband Justin (who live next door to my mom and dad) over for dinner. We had a "Thanksgiving meal" and it was FABULOUS!!!! We also celebrated Mike's birthday which is on New Year's Eve.

Our yearly tradition of going to the Rose Parade was not quite the same this year. I wasn't feeling too good so I didn't end up going. My cousin Emily ended up in the hospital New Year's Eve with a bad case of the flu, but made it to the parade. Lisa has been having really bad morning sickness, so she stayed home, so Shauna took all the kids. My dad and Heather decided not to go either. I have to admit it was not the same waking up this morning and not heading out to the parade! There's always next year!! Guess I will put my signs back in the garage to wait another year.

We spent New Year's day watching the Rose Bowl at my dad's house with the clan. I even got Jaden and Carter some USC shirts to wear!! It was an BLOW OUT and USC came out victorous!!! FIGHT ON!! The kids spent most of the game in the backyard making a mess!!! They made some "soup" out of mud, water and most of the plants in my moms garden!! Kids will be kids!!! Joe and I also intoduced Dave to "The Hat" for lunch!! He was in heaven and hopefully we all won't end up there sooner than we think from all the GREASE we ate!!! You can't beat a pastrami sandwhich, onion rings, chilli cheese dog and chilli cheese fries!!!

I took this week off of work so I can hang out with my family. It should be a blast!! Dave leaves to go back to Canada tomorrow afternoon. It is sad to see him go....We had a blast hanging out with you!! Don't worry Dave..we will start your X-Box 360 fund and you will have one sooner than you think!!! Anyone interested in contributing to this VERY IMPORTANT cause????
