We went to T-Street on Labor Day. My mom decided that she wanted to go swimming in the ocean with her new goggles and ear plugs. She didn't get too far. We all had a blast watching her walking through the waves with her goggles!!! It was CLASSIC CHERYL!!!! Oh the money we could make if we made a TV show of my mom!!!!!
P.S. That's Dave and Aaron in the back ground. The only reason my mom even got wet was because they were splashing her!!
I can't wait for it be 12:30 this Saturday.....the USC FOOTBALL SEASON begins!!! I have been waiting for this day since the season ended last year. I can't wait to go to the home games. I love football, especially college football. USC has a great schedule this year and OHIO STATE is coming to the coliseum!!! We are going to have a big party this Saturday to kick off the season. Can it be Saturday already??? FIGHT ON!!!!!!!
Last night we went to a Dodgers game with my mom, Dave, Aaron & Stacey (Dave's sister) and their two boys Dahl and Ty. Aaron and Stacey just moved here because Aaron will be going to Dental School at USC!!! Their oldest boy Dahl loves the Dodgers because of the movie "The Sandlot". We told them that when they got here, we would take them to their first Dodger game. It was a perfect night and the weather was great. When we go to Dodger's stadium, we always sit in "Top Deck". We sit there for two reasons...the tickets are only $9 and the view is amazing!! My mom has been a Dodger fan since she was a kid. She hadn't been to a game for a LONG time, so she was really excited to go! I got some peanuts and she got her cracker jacks!!!
The game started out great in the first inning, we scored two runs. Not much happened until the 9th inning. The Brewers had gone ahead 3-2. We had two people on base and the next hitter was able to get on base to load the bases. Here is a clip of it. The stadium and Dahl were going wild!! After this, Manny Ramirez got up and hit a sacrifice fly to score our tying run! (Sorry the video is blurry. I was trying to zoom in and then it got stuck, so I couldn't zoom out!)
We ended up losing in the tenth inning, 4-3, but it was still a really exciting game. After the game there was a firework show. They let everyone go and sit in the outfield to watch the fireworks. We decided to stay up top because there were SOOO many people. Ty and Dahl loved the show...but poor little Ty only made it half way through. We all had a great night. Go Dodgers!!!
Boys will be boys!!!! Joe and Dave really think they are in a real band!!! Quoting Dave, "Joe...You're my guitar hero!" Don't think they will be getting much sleep tonight...or will I!!!! I have to admit that they are pretty entertaining to watch!!
Here is a sneak peak at their up coming live tour...
All bands have their technical difficulties...(This is pretty funny!)
Yesterday Joe and I celebrated our 3 year anniversary!! Joe surprised me by taking me to Disneyland after work. He also surprised me with a dozen gorgeous red roses sent to me at work! We renewed our passes to Disneyland. I have been having withdrawals since they expired on Christmas Eve. We had a nice night. We just went for a couple hours. We had dinner, did a little shopping and saw the fireworks as we were leaving. I can't believe how quickly the past 3 years have gone. Joe treats me like a princess. He is so good to me and I can't imagine my life without him. He was sooo supportive when my grandpa was in the hospital last month. He would drive to Arcadia every night after work. I don't know anyone who, for a week straight, would drive in rush hour traffic for at least two hours and just stay for a couple of hours and have to drive back home. There were some night that he wouldn't get home until 1 in the morning and have to go to work the next day and then do the drive again. He sure is something special!! I LOVE YOU BABY!!!
Tomorrow, Joe and I are going to bury Joe's grandmother. She passed away at the beginning of June (we sure didn't have a fun June). In the Buddhist religion, you have to wait a certain amount of days before you bury someone, so tomorrow is the day. She is buried in the same cemetery as my grandpa, so I will get to go visit him. I still can't believe that he is not with us anymore. I still find myself crying when I think of him or when I see something that reminds me of him. Joe and I think it is pretty neat that we both have relatives buried at the same cemetery. We can both go and visit them all at the same time.
