"BEAT...THE IRISH"

Last Saturday was the USC vs Notre Dame game. Dave's dad, brother and brother-in-law's came down from Canada to go to the game. My dad and brother also came and drove with Joe and I.It was a "guys" weekend, but I went along too!! All the guys got USC jersey's to wear, so they were all decked out in their cardinal and gold!! My dad and brother got some shirts at the bookstore for the game. We got there pretty early and headed out to the practice field. Dave and his group got there before us. We kicked some field goals and then started to play a game. Next thing we knew, there were about 7 police coming to kick us off!! Bummer....technically you aren't supposed to play on the field, but we know how to sneak on!!

We then headed out the the track and the boys found a group of guys to get a game going. It was pretty entertaining to watch!!! They played for about an hour. CJ had a sweet touchdown!!! Poor Dave and Aaron's team was "lacking" and they got worked pretty hard! Dave's dad Tom was the best to watch!! He was always telling the guys what to do in the huddles and pulled some sweet moves!! They were quite impressed with him!! Matt got worked pretty hard when he went up in the air one play to block a pass and landed on some little kid and they smashed heads together. We think he might of had a small concussion because he was "SOOO" out of it after that and his eyes were blood shot red!!!

Joe was able to meet up with his friend, Omar, who he grew up with. Omar was at the game with some of his friends who went to Notre Dame. He was wearing a "Cal" sweatshirt (he graduated from there), so I gave him a "Beat Notre Dame" button to wear so he could cover up the "Cal" on his sweatshirt and to "represent" who would be winning!!!

We then headed to the bookstore and the boys pretty much bought the place out!! They had a bunch of stuff on sale. Dave got Chuck some shorts that were originally $60 but on only had to pay $30!! Then we headed out to the Coliseum. On the way we stopped to see Tommy Trojan but he was covered in duck tape so that no one could vandalize him!!!!

We watched the teams warm up from the front row. There was even a fight before the game started!! Pete Carroll had the biggest smile on his face while he walked away from the fight....it was CLASSIC!!!! This was the last home game for the Seniors, so they had all the football alumni there to make a tunnel for the Seniors to run through as they called their names out.

Joe and I had seats on the opposite side as the rest of the group. We were pretty high up, but had a perfect view!! The game was a BLOW OUT!!!! Poor Notre Dame had NO first downs and only 9 total yards of offense at the end of the first half. They finally got their first "frist down" at the last play of the third quarter!! The whole stadium started to cheer for them!! There was another fight towards the end of the game too!! Finally it was over and the score was 38-3.

As we were watching the game, they kept showing the Oregon/Oregon State score. If Oregon State lost that game and USC beats Notre Dame (duh!!) and UCLA, they will go to the Rose Bowl!!! Oregon State ended up losing 65-38!!!!!! One more game and USC will be in the ROSE BOWL....AGAIN!!! Yeah...that means the band will be at the Rose Parade!!!

It was an awesome day!!! The boys had the time of their life!!!! I am sad that the season is almost over. At least we have the Rose Bowl to hopefully look forward too!! FIGHT ON...Oooh Woot Oh OOOOH, Ooh Woot Oh OOOHHH!!!!!

Cool pictures but I wish you got photos of the police making you get off the field! Are there cute male cheerleaders for this team?! Just thinking about the Rose Parade, for Hill and Em!
